I'm new to the forum and hope others can offer me some insight.

I'm 29 years old...diagnosed with fibromyalgia about a year ago. Cymbalta is my 4th med that the rheumatologist has tried on me. Other meds I had bad side affects to. I only started the Cymbalta 30 mg about the beginning of November. Over Thanksgiving weekend, I experienced a real scare. I woke up Saturday morning and my right side began to shake uncontrollably. Then it transferred over to my left side. I could not stop the tremors no matter what I did. My family rushed me to the ER and the doctor said I could be having a reaction to the Cymbalta. He advised to discontinue use and told me to take Benadryl and Ativan for the tremors. Those meds helped stop the tremors for a bit and everything seemed to be ok. Then later that night the tremors started again but were worse than in the morning. I had only been off the Cymbalta for just barely 24 hours that night. So I was taken to another ER and they only drew blood. Blood work seemed to come back ok and I was sent home. Doctor didn't even come in to talk to me again after seeing me for 3 minutes when I first got there.

Then Sunday morning came around.......and the tremors were really bad and I was shaking so bad that it was like I was having a seizure. My eyes were rolling in the back of my head and I was having trouble breathing. The paramedics were called and I was taken to the ER by ambulance this time. Doctor did a ct scan which came back normal and I was released again with no answers other than to follow up with my rheumatologist on Monday. When I called their office to make an appointment, they couldn't schedule one till Friday and I told them that I couldn't wait that long. I explained everything that happened and asked to have the doctor figure something else out. They called me back saying that my symptoms sounded more neurological than what he could help me with. So I made an appointment at a neurologist for the next day....wasted my time there too. These guys are saying they're not sure if it's the meds or if I'm just too stressed out - which I'm not stressed out.

So I've been off Cymbalta for about 10 days now. Tremors haven't completely subsided. My vision is blurred, I'm having difficulty griping a pen and feel like I'm in a fog. I'm having trouble figuring out how to write basic numbers and my memory has been terrible since this all started. I heard from a co-worker what a terrible drug Cymbalta is and I've read some of the posts on here. I'm just really confused on what's going on....I can't seem to get a doctor that wants to help me. If anyone can offer any advice or direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I want my life back. I'm afraid this has caused some permanent damage and I'm questioning on whether I can work and be the provider I need to be for my family.
