I just wanted to make sure that people are aware that Prozac and Cymbalta are not suppose to be taken concurrently. I looked that info up before I started taking Cymbalta. I was already taking Prozac and Lamictal, plus other routine meds, so I make it a habit to look up any drug-drug interactions. Prozac and Cymbalta concurrent usage is listed with a warning. That is something my doctor didn't even say anything about when switching me over.

Hi. I was browsing through old email and came across a letter from this cymbalta withdrawal site and remembered how helpful this site was while I weaning off of cymbalta last February. I felt I should pay it forward by letting you know that "this too shall pass". In February, just before I started weaning off cymbaltal, my Doctor put me on welbutrin for my anxiety/depression. Then she had me wean down to the lower mg of cymbalta. But once I stopped taking it, it wasn't good! The brain zaps were the most uncomfortable. So she put me on the lowest dose of prozac to get me through the tough two to three month period of withdrawal and brain zapping. Once I took the prozac, all withdrawal symptoms went away. In May, I weaned off prozac very uneventfully, with no side effects. Since then, I've been fine! This was my experience. I can't stand pain or discomfort; so for me, it was the only way to get through it.
