    Spread the wrongs about Cymbalta

Posted 30 January 2012 - 08:16 AM

I am so glad I found this site.I thought I was alone in all my symptoms of withdrawal from Cymbalta, and was having a mental breakdown.I was on Cymbalta for over 5 yrs ,started to take due to severe and prolonged pain from shingles.I got my 1st night of sleep in 6 months after I started taking Cymbalta.I was always on only 20 mg a day,so it does not matter what your dosage was you still have withdrawal symptoms.I even spent 8 weeks tapering off the 20 mg.Aboyt a week after my last pill ,thing were really bad,I was having severe pain in all my joints ,bones and stomach,my muscles felt like jello.I am retired and tried 2 other times to quit cold turkey, but I had to work and deal with the public so I could not handle it and restarted the Cymbalta. My withdrawals included also sever rage I wanted to kill anyone who got near me,I was severely irritable, dizzy, blood pressure would drop to 80/45,I also had severe ideations of suicide.I prayed several times a day for Jesus to help me with my plight.Sowly at 2 months later my rage has lifted,I am not nearly as irritable ,my suicidal ideations are less frequent ,even my pain has lessened, but my muscles are still weak as I go for my morning walk.Through it all I have faithfully walked daily for 60 minutes, even to the point of collapse.I thank Jesus and my dear husband for standing by me and all their help.Hang in there everyone, hopefully things will get better. The FDA does need to put warnings on this drug NOW,I am sure there is someone who did not or will not make it through their withdrawal with their life.
