I have been taking Cymbalta 20mg, once a day, for about 4 years or more, for anxiety disorder. I tried to get off of it in December 2010 but was unsuccessful. My doctor told me to take one, one day then take none one day, etc..then to increase the times between doses until I was off of it. It was a disaster. I ended up with the horrific brain zaps as well as suicidal thoughts. I left out that before all of this my doctor accidentally called in a 30mg prescription a couple of months prior to this (I noticed they looked different but didn't realize the amount had changed). I ended up abandoning my efforts to get off of it but started up again a couple of weeks ago, or so.

I don't have access to the liquid version of Cymbalta. I have been taking the capsules apart and pouring out a little of the "beads?". I am now down to around 10 mg a day and haven't noticed any brain zaps, at all. My mood is a bit more somber but nothing like it was back in December 2010. I am going to continue this until my daily intake is around 5 mg or so (for a week or so) and then start doing 5 mg one day, none the next, etc., and keep my fingers crossed.

Just wanted to share.

Hi
How long did it take you to get down to 10 mg ? I am going down by 20 granules every 10 days.
Having nausea and flu like symptoms in the evenings. This is my first wk with 27mg.
I tried cold turkey but that was hell. I think slower is better for me but wish it could be faster. I feel stoned thru the day off and on just 2mg makes a difference which makes me think this drug is wicked. I can't wait to have my energy back and feel like doing things again
