I have been on a a 30 mg dose of Cymbalta for almost one year.

When I was thinking about getting off Cymbalta, I was totally freaked out by reading the posts on this website and other places. I knew that I had bad reactions from getting off of Cymbalta based on a vacation I took where I forgot my medicine and ended up feeling incredibly sick, weak, dizzy, brain-zappy, etc.

But, almost two weeks ago I began the weaning process. I made myself three one-week supplies of altered cymbalta. I popped the pills open and just kinda eyeballed the amounts of the grains inside. For each of the three weeks I dumped out more of the inside parts. Week 1 I was on a 75% dosage. Week 2= 50% dosage. Week 3= 25% dosage. I'm near the end of week 2 and I feel totally fine.

I felt slightly sick the first time I decreased from 100% to 75%, but otherwise I've felt fine. I'm sleeping much better too. I'm a little worried what is going to happen during week 4 (no cymbalta at all), but based on my experience so far, I'm not that worried.

I wanted to write this because I think that the people who come to write on forums like this are the ones that have the worst withdrawal symptoms. People who feel fine don't feel the need to write about it. I just wanted to let people out there who are reading this forum and thinking that they might want to quit cymbalta know that even though withdrawal symptoms are terrible for some people, they are barely there for others (like me). I chalk this up to my gradual tapering of the dosage.

Good luck everyone!

I didn't wean cos I'd only been on Cymbalta for less than two months. I went cold turkey thinking I'd be ok. 11 days later I'm still as sick as a dog !!

It's good to hear a positive side to all this. Wish you all the best for the final phase!! Please keep us posted!
