Hi all,
I am 47 and have been on Cymbalta for 3 years for anxiety. I am considering weaning from 60mg and have been back to this site several times to help me decide. I think the best way seems to be slowly and to 'count' the grains which i can do if it achieves my gaol. I have realised since reading this that many of the symptoms that i thought were other things are actually from this drug.
Cymbalta worked wonderfully for me for 2 years but lately I have noticed an increase in the symptoms- particularly the suicidal fleeting thoughts and the nausea.I do not seem to be able to string a sentence together which is frightening as my mother has alzheimers and I have found myself wondering if I am getting it. But I am not, I know that. I have the nightmares and the lethargy and the mild feeling of -not anxiety but almost nervousness- if that makes any sense. I am going on holidays for a month later on this year so I think I will wait and do it when i come home as that last thing I want is to feel lousy on holiday.
Maybe I might work on dropping the dose to 30mg by the time I go away and then sit for a while before working on getting off it. My GP is very little help. He said "just drop a day here and there." Hmmmm....Nah!
Thank you to everyone who has shared their hearts and journey's. Hopefully mine will be one of the success stories. I will keep you posted.
God Bless and Cheers, M
