This morning I am packaging up what is left of my Cymbalta and sending it back to Eli Lily . I only wish I had the means to go after them financially. Why is it that no one has done that yet? Just getting this crap out of the house will make me happy and maybe when they get my note someone there will realize that people are really hurting from this stuff. Or maybe they will just think I am crazy. Which I am beginning to think I am. :-(

I hear there is a law suit in progress, but that might just be a rumor. If I hear more, I'll let you know.

Sadly, they probably won't care. Huge corporations (especially drug companies) don't care about PEOPLE, they care about MONEY. It's disgusting.

I hope the act of doing it helped you feel empowered. It was your way to give them the finger & I think it's wonderful. Just don't expect anything from them, because as a huge company, they really don't care. :(

Happy for you to be off of this med. I am starting to considering weaning off of it, and, I'm reading the boards.

They definitely don't give a shit about the patients. It is all about profits for them. Doesn't mean us patients can't do something about it collectively, though.

Health care professionals definitely do not know how bad Cymbalta is.  My hubby is at day 26 free from Cymbalta.  In the past week he has been told by his psychiatrist, his general practitioner physician, and the ER physicians that Cymbalta withdrawals are not the cause of his distress.  They look right at him, listen to him describe all his symptoms since he stopped Cymbalta, and then say "well Cymbalta can't be the cause."  Idiots.

The doctors are few that will say that the symptoms we experience are from Cymbalta. The ones that do need to get together so that they could present their case together. There is alot of information online that needs to be gathered up in one place so that it would stand out. I am hoping to get my printer ink by tomorrow so that I can print out some of the imformation that other doctors have put online. I want to take it in to my doctor on Friday when I have an appointment.

I would suggest that everyone do something like that when you have to go to the ER so that they have some facts to look at rather than just having us explain it. One thing though, don't bother with the wikipedia.org stuff as they do not want to look at that. Go to the links for the info you want as most of the info has supporting documentation.

This is a good link regarding Criteria for SSRI Discontinuation Syndrome http://www.ncbi.nlm....les/PMC1407715/

This is a doctor's story about a patient trying to discontinue Cymbalta and is very good - http://www.healthcen...146506/cymbalta

Eli Lilly is aware of the problems but chooses to do the bare minimum in regards to the mandates given them. Somehow this situation must be changed.
