I went off of Cymbalta several weeks ago and it has been a nightmare. I've never had a problem going off of any other medication. The first 2 weeks were the worst: my sleep was wrecked, I was SO ANGRY, jittery, nauseous, developed tinnitis, and my eyes drove me crazy when I tried to read or watch TV.
My sleep is better but I cannot relax. I am still jittery and angry - which is TOTALLY opposite of my normal personality. The nausea continues and now I have intermittent bouts of diarrhea which I've read are one of the symptoms of SSRI withdrawal.
My doctors claim to know nothing about anything but very minor problems going off of Cymbalta or any other SSRI. Same with my pharmacist, and nurses at the doctors' offices. How can they be SO STUPID? How do you find a doctor who knows how to deal with this? My prescribing doctor took me off of it WAY too fast, didn't give me a titration schedule, and I was pretty much on my own with it. He would have stopped me cold turkey if I hadn't expressed concern.
I'm losing my mind ... my husband has never seen me like this!! My heart goes out to each and every one of you who is going through this with me.
I'm new here... my life has become a nightmare!
