I stopped taking Cymbalta cold turkey over a week ago. I'm taking Benadryl but it doesn't really help. I am able to get through my work day with it, though. I hate Cymbalta, I've been trying to get off it for the last year. Every time I try to taper off, the side effects kick in and I go back to the meds just to stop the side effects. It's been awful! I was just tempted to take a Cymbalta and had to flush the whole bottle down the toilet. Come Hell or highwater I'm getting off this crap!

I have stopped taking cymbalta cold turkey 3 days ago after about 7 months at 60 mg. I have been looking up the withdrawel symptons and found this site. After reading what i have found so far i am tempted to run to the drug store for some benadryl at lunch. I do not want to start back on the cymbalta for several reasons, is there an end in sight for the withdrawl symptons?

I also stopped taking Cymbalta (60 mg) Cold Turkey 3 days ago. I had been using Cymbalta for only 3 months, after switching from Lexapro use for around 18 months.

Glad to read that Benadryl is helping some of you. I'm getting tired of feeling dizzy!

hey guys, i'm trying to quit cymbalta cold turkey because it caused me to gain weight. i also just don't think i need it, considering it was perscribed to keep me from being anxious about several surgeries that i had to have. but i'm wondering how long the withdrawl symptoms last and if they get worse...??? if how i feel today (day 2 off the med) is the worst i'm gonna feel (dizzy, sweaty, and not hungry) i think i can handle it! please let me know...;)

I wonder about why Benadryl works. What is going on chemically? Glad it worked for some but why not everyone?

Is that some freaky shit or what. We are forced to keep taking a drug only to avoid it's withdrawals! That exact scenario that you described is way more common than you would think.

It makes me think this is a giant conspiracy to get everyone to keep paying for Cymbalta to prevent these horrible withdrawals.
