Nothing serious Crazychic, but thanks for being so caring.

I have a torn ligament in my wrist from an old injury that didn't heal properly. Since it is an old, soft tissue problem there isn't much that can be done but specialist decided to try cortisone injection into the space between the bones.

My wrist is a little sore and fingers are stiff right now but in a day or so I should be able to use my hand more with less pain.

Hope it works.

Take care of you

Hi all

Still fighting the good fight over here.

Widthdrawl syptoms are still here and beating me down.

Not as intense and I do have some really good no syptom fre times also.

I may get through this yet.

Never again on this drug and I will be doing tons of research on any other drug a doctor wants to put me on.

Thanks for all the help and support

Ron

It hasn't helped as much as I had hoped it would. In fact with the four days it took for the swelling to go down I wish I had not bothered. Maybe it would have worked better had my wrist not already been sore and swollen.

Take care

You would think I had learned this lesson already but I had to try one more med and suffering for it lol.

Yes research, research and research some more before any meds and it I can accomplish the same thing with a change of diet I will try that before the med.

Take care

Day 26 I have been feeling pretty good. I have the brain zaps here and there but overall feeling pretty darn good. Oh what a glorious day it will be when I no longer have those dang zaps! So glad to have this drug out of my system. I'm like Ron I will never take another drug without lots of research. Lesson learned, the hard way /:

But of course that would be my luck. Yes thankfully the akathisia is settling down. It still feels like there is foreign thing in the front of my brain but it is getting smaller and the need to move is still happening but I can sit for a meal at least now.

Hubbie has told me to call and cancel dr appt I have for tomorrow as he will not take me in because he doesn't want me to try anymore meds til after seeding is done (hubbie and his brother are grain farmers and seeding is late this year so that is enough stress for him). Hubbie feels I should wait to see psychatrist first (June 25) and I am relieved that he feels that way.

Those brain zaps will go away Crazychic. You are doing so great that I am a tad jealous but mostly I am just so happy for you. Eli Lilly loses another customer and you beat Crapalta  - - - Woohoo

Take care all

Day 27, I'm still pretty good. More zaps today than yesterday. Think I may have over did it yesterday. I'm off work tomorrow and my plans include sleeping, more sleeping, oh and more sleeping! Lol these 50 hour weeks are wearing me out, before cymbalta 50 hours was a drop in the bucket. Still trudging along. Hope everyone is feeling better (:

That sounds like it would create a major Crapalta headache and I can't imagine having to try to concentrate on anything for that long when not in top shape.

You deserve a nice quiet relaxing evening for sure.

It sounds like you normally work alot of hours. Definitely time for some R & R but in your case just make that Rest and Rest.

Good sleep is what I think finally got rid of the zaps for me.

Take care

Thanks Nancy I agree I think sleep makes the zaps stay away. I'm going to post everyday until I don't have anymore symptoms. I hope that someone who is beginning their journey will find my post helpful. I've noticed that most stop posting as they begin to feel better. Just want anyone who begins to have a day by day guide.

That is a nice thing to do Crazychic. You are such a kind person.

I want to set up a forum to come back to say once a month or so when cymptom free so that people will know that past members have succeeded in getting off and are now doing well. It seems that most forget all the help here and don't come back. I don't want to forget all the help I got here.

Of course I can't seem to stay away lol and still want to help everyone so I will be around for awhile yet I imagine.

Enjoy your time off and take care

That's a great idea! This site has been a god send. I think that a forum that would be a great inspiration to those who are looking to begin their "discontinuation syndrome" withdrawals.

I am so glad I found this forum. I recently quit taking Cymbalta as well. My doc was giving me samples too. It was a benefit for me bc I worked for the healthcare company and I didn't have to pay for it for almost 2 yrs. Well I had a 3 day notice that the lab I worked at was closing so needless to say I did not have time to go get extras. My part after insurance was outrageous so I didn't fill it, thinking it would be no big deal because I was taking Cymbalta for chronic back pain from a car wreck I was in 2 yrs ago. I thought well I will not be worki g so I should be able to tolerate the pain. Honestly I thought I was going crazy til I read the posts on here. Thank you all for opening up and discussing problems that your having. I have been off the Cymbalta now for 6 days and 2 days ago I started having roaring in my ears and had this very weird feeling in my head that I had no idea how to explain. Brain zapps perfectly describes it. Sometimes I hesitate to c/o everything bc I feel people will think I'm a hypochondriac. But my memory is shot I forget things in less than a minute I feel like I'm in a constant state of confusion. My moods are so crazy I cried last night just bc I couldn't get my hair combed out ...how dumb is that. Last night I thought I needed to be institutionalized. Dealing with the loss of my job, insurance and the funds to purchase these meds plus all these crazy side effects from not taking the meds has been horrible. You all though have made me feel so much better. I now know I'm not alone and maybe I'm not crazy after all. : ) thank you all again so much. Praying we all get better from this stupid medication. This has definitely taught me a hard lesson, to research any new medicines the doc wants me to take. God Bless.

Hi Jenny, glad you found the forum also (: it's really helpful knowing that other people understand and know what your experiencing. I see your at 6 days, the first week is a nightmare! Week 2 you will see some improvement not as much as you would like but don't get discouraged You can make it through this.
This is a great site with lots of caring people who are either going through or getting past Cymbalta. Eww just typing that word makes me cringe /: Best wishes! Stay strong (:

6+ more hours of training.

Don't know if I will make it today but I am having to high level test on this training.

Hope I can pass

So much of this training is flying by without me getting it because of the Brain Zaps.

Seems the more you use and need your brain the more it ZAPS ME

Hanging tough and hoping for less symptoms moving forward.

Hi Jenny... glad you found this site too. I'm 9 days into a ramp down that will take 4 weeks... Thought I was crazy, then Monday I found this site with all these WONDERFUL andCARING people! It's helped so much to read all this and also to have my husband read some! Wish you well over the coming days and weeks!

Ron, good luck with the rest....I know it seems impossible, but just keep trying and do your best! ... I failed a supervisory exam last week (day2 of ramp down.. The words made no sense and I fell asleep at last twice during it! :-\) and I have an info systems exam on 2 weeks I haven't begun to study for... To bad life can't slow down a little for us...

Day 28, I slept most of the day away, working while dealing with the brain zaps has me exhausted. The zaps have been more frequent the last couple of days than they were this time last week. I know they will go away just wish it was quicker. All of the other symptoms are mostly gone except for mild headaches. Hope everyone is hanging in there. Have a blessed day (:

for some of us, it seems the journey and work is complete once they have completed withdrawal, that is great and ideally it would be that way for all.

for others, the journey has only just begun once the symptoms abate- that's when the question in mind is 'how will the 'new me' cope with life, with new challenges, with what seems a completely new or messed up brain. nasty and terrible as the initial weeks are, the time after is hard in its own way, and one that perhaps is even more lonely (as everyone around us perhaps expects us to be 'normal' again once we've finished puking or whatever we've had as withdrawal!

unfortunately something like this, it can leave a scar, a massive one, that will take time to heal, and that's when we also need each other.

Well said chimera. For many of us once the cymbalta is gone it's absense uncovers many old wounds that now have to be dealt with.

Better than having that stuff in your body.

Very well said Chimera. You are right on the mark there. I am doing the "who am I now?" and wondering exactly what conditions that taking cymbalta has aggravated and will they go away eventually lol.

Things will get better again Crazychic. The rollercoaster should be fairly minimal now. Compared to a coule weeks ago ....a peice of cake.
