Was prescribed Cymbalta 7 years ago for OCD and depression. I am now 22. Quit cold turkey and survived several weeks of life changing withdrawal. Finally feeling like myself again.

So I am constantly groggy and super grouchy/irritable, along with brain zaps and constant ringing of ears. I am being so mean to my boyfriend and I cannot stop! I am lucky he is so understanding. I have been jogging all week but today I could only do a short walk. I cried for about an hour today. I recently got a d.u.i. And will have to do jail time (3 to 7 days) sometime in the next month or so. I am worried these symptoms will still be going strong when I end up going to jail. Ugh. When will I feel better? Been taking fish oil, Dramamine, and flax seed.

Also I started the drug for depression and OCD. I feel very paranoid and like my OCD is more intense with the withdrawals. I am 22 years old. Hoping I am not a completely different person without the drug! :/

Good luck!

I have also been snapping at my partner and being very short tempered, luckily he understands that this is just part of the withdrawal.

Surely you can explain what you are going through to a judge or a lawyer and see if you can have your jail sentence postponed?

I talked to my lawyer yesterday and thankfully we can get it pushed back until the end of July or beginning of August. I am so thankful for that. I have no qualms with paying my dues and going to jail I just wasn't sure I could do with with these symptoms in full swing! Now crossing my fingers I will be good by then! :)

Gypsygal, the majority of symptoms seem to last from 4 to 8 weeks although it is possible for longer withdrawal. About the second or third week off the symptoms should start slowly winding down. Good luck with all and keep us posted.

Oh god today is by far the worst day of all. I want to kill myself and all my boyfriend and i have done is scream at each other. Any tiny little annoyance causes me to fly into a  rage and break things. I hate my life right now and am worried this is how its going to be forever. So overall, feeling hopeless, angry, sad , annoyed, and did I mention hopeless? God help me please.
