Hello, This is my 3rd attempt at weaning off this horrible drug - 3rd time's a charm, right? I'm wondering if anyone knows about the 20mg capsules available.
My PCP has been working with me to taper off slowly by using 20mg and 30mg capsules. I started at 60mg and went to 50mg by taking one 20mg and one 30mg each night for one whole month. Very mild emotional symptoms and mild nausea (far less this time). Then decreased by 10mg each month using two 20mg capsules, then one 30mg capsule, then one 20mg capsule which is where I am right now. My next step will be to open the 20mg capsule and divide in half to get 10mg daily for one month. Not sure if I will try to further reduce to 5mg before stopping completely. But this is working very well for me. Very little withdrawal symptoms!
Hope this helps someone else! I had horrendous withdrawals the first and second attempts by following the weaning advice given by my drs.!!!!
