Hello everyone,

I was recently weaned off of 60 mg of Cymbalta during a one week inpatient stay at the hospital. It's been a week and I'm having a terrible time with withdrawal. I've done a bunch of research and have started taking supplements to help with the symptoms, so I thought I would share. This was especially hard for me because I have a very sensitive stomach, and taking a ton of pills leads to me immediately vomiting. So I had to be creative. Any feedback/additions are welcome!

Morning:

10 mg Lexapro

1 tablet Dramamine (helps with dizziness and nausea)

1000 mg Vitamin C - 2 chewable tablets (http://www.amazon.co...itamin c wafers)

1000 IU Vitamin D3 - mixed with juice (http://www.vitaminsh...11#.Ukhe99LBOSo)

1000mcg Vitamin B12 - mixed with juice, can be combined with Vitamin D3 above - (http://www.vitaminsh...16#.UkhfPNLBOSo)

Dopabean - 1 tablet - (http://www.vitaminsh....jsp?id=SO-1930)

B 50 Complex - 1 tablet - (http://www.vitaminsh...46#.UkhfytLBOSo)

Omega 3 - This was really difficult for me, I didn't want that nasty fish oil taste since I'm already nauseous enough already, but it was hard to find something that was fairly strong. I'm pleasantly surprised by this. I take 1 tsp in the morning and one at night, although I may up the dose. 2 tsp is about 1050 mg of Omega 3 - http://www.vitaminsh...19#.UkhgUtLBOSo

Magnesium/Calcium/Zinc supplement - 1 tablet - (http://www.vitaminsh...52#.UkhijdLBOSo)

Throughout the day:

-Continue to take Dramamine every four hours

-I have 600 mg Ibuprofen/ 500 hydocodone as PRN medications-. Only take when pain/muscle aches become unbearable.

-I also have Klonopin, which I can take for anxiety/insomnia. I only take this during the day if my anxiety is out of control.

Nighttime:

1 tsp of the Omega 3 smoothie (See above. Again, I'm going to probably switch to 2 tsp/twice a day)

Dopabean - 1 tablet (see above)

Magnesium/calcium/zinc - 1 tablet - See above

400 IU Vitamin E - mixed with juice- http://www.vitaminsh...77#.UkhjHNLBOSo

500 mg Evening Primose Oil - 1 tablet - http://www.vitaminsh...09#.UkhjkdLBOSo

.5 mg Klonopin

Hopefully this is helpful to some people. Like I said, I'm very sensitive to vitamins and have been struggling with nausea through withdrawal. Take these after Dramamine and always with food, I've been able to keep them down so far. My concentration/memory has improved, and I'm not experiencing any brain zaps. Main symptoms currently are muscle aches, headaches, and nausea/vertigo, which suck but are manageable. Only worrisome symptom is hallucinations, I'm hoping they also subside.

Just as an FYI, the site which I got this information from also recommended 5-HTG. DO NOT take this supplement without talking to your doctor. It is especially dangerous if you are on another SSRI/SNRI, as it can cause serotonin syndrome.

OMG they screwed you royally!!!!  You cannot get off of this poison that fast!!  You need to reinstate and taper slowly!!   And beware of Klonipin! It will destroy you as well.

Document everything you are going through.     This is nothing to kid around with.       Eli Lily's own researcher hung herself in the lab after one week off of this shit.

I did end up back in the hospital, but only for a couple days at the beginning of October. I've been out for a couple weeks now and I'm doing ok - still super exhausted by everything, but I can definitely tell there's been improvements.

Flax seed.
No meat, drink your protein.
Lots if leafy greens.
No sugar.
Be wary of milk and milk products.
I'm glad I found this page and when my head stops spinning, I will introduce myself more.
The above items will help the zaps, but that's about it. If your zaps are as bad as mine were/are, that is nirvana in itself.
Also, don't dwell on these crappy feelings.
It WILL get better.

Also, if you KNOW feelings of jumping off a bridge or taking your life are unreasonable, then you have control enough not to do it.
Like G.I. Joe says, "knowing is half the battle." My bro killed himself and since I know doing the same thing is stupid, I would never do it. It's the meds, be strong :)

I agree that knowing is half the battle. And the knowing is knowing that others have crossed this wilderness.  Others have faced the temptations to end the pain: take a capsule of anything to make it stop; plead with the medical people who have no idea what you are going through; and stand there on the bridge in the rain with incredulous raw eyes, exploding brain and weary heart. These are challenges many of us have encountered. But we got through, and we got through because we knew others had done it, and that is as the man said, half the battle.

I'm on my 7th day of my transition to Viibryd, and I ended up in the Dr office today. I'm experiencing the suicidal thoughts and all the other shit that goes along with this drug! My heart races, I have hot flashes and then cold chills. My head wants to uncontrollably turn to left because that's the direction of my dizziness. I feel like I have a lightning storm going on in my head and the pressure behind my eyes is unbearable.
I was told that this should only last a few more days, but after reading this site, I'm afraid it's going to be longer than that.
I just want my life back!
