My name is Kama, and I have been on cymbalta about a year and a half. I have always had to deal with on and off depression, but it got real bad, when my mom and dad died within 2 months of each other. Well that was five years ago, and I am feeling better, but the thing is I had to have two heart procedures this summer, and quite frankly got behind on things, had to miss psych apptointments due to being in hospital. I do owe them my last copay too. Well I got a letter from the dr last friday saying my cares was under review, the reasons listed were 1. not folowing prescribed treatment, 2. missing appointments, 3. outstanding balance. I have called several times (before this letter) and explained what is going on, and that I planned to pay, and set and appointment. I am also going to the counselor he sent me to. So he decides to not refill my cymbalta. I know from past experience it is not a drug you can just stop. I tryied to talk to him and make an appointment, but no go. So I called my pcp, and he is going to prescribe some, but will work on weaning me. I will not go back to see the psych a**hole. Can't he get in legal trouble for this? Oh and now the very ast of the day the office called and wanted me in for an appointment, I say no way! I am very upset t have been put on this kind of a drug that makes you dependent, and you can't get off of easily. I no longer want this s*** in my system. I feel they should make you sign a waiver before they put you on it, so they are legally liable.
Another Newbie, confused, Angry And Scared. Why Would A Dr Prescribe This Garbage?

I'm in my 7th week of weaning and doing very well. Bead counting and taking supplements may be something to consider. Search those words here or look at my previous posts for details on how I'm weaning. I learned it from this group. Others here are far more experienced than me. Best of luck. Hugs.

So I went to my pcp today. He did refill my Cymbalta, but wants to wean me off when I get stronger. Having just been thru 2 cardiac procedures, and acute bronchitis, I agree. I am weaker then a dishrag. So i want to start weaning off as soon as i can, with the bead method.
