After coming off I had uncontrollable crying. No reason, just would break out in tears for a half our or so. I would do that 10 or 15 times a day.

It will pass Nattsie. Hang in there.

Natalie there will be a few unsettling surprises to be sure. The laughing and/or crying happens. As with Fishinghat, it was crying for me, but if I did get laughing about something, it could sort of take over and I'd laugh too long.

All of the withdrawal symptoms get us thinking we've done the wrong thing, and maybe we should get back on the drug. This happened to me too; the strongest "Oh my god what have I done?" day was day 19 when the brain zaps started. I almost went back on the drug because it spooked me so much.

You're NOT going crazy! Hang in there!

Natalie, the laughter strengthens the core and gets the facial muscles moving in the right direction to produce a pleasant face. Just go with it- laugh!!  It's here, and feeling bad or guilty about it won't make it stop.

Don't worry about it; there will be more interesting surprises to come. Experience this, be present and stay strong.

hey guys!

today is my first full day after my bead counting began.. i initially went from 60mg to 30mg and now i'm on the bead counting.

i've just had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience... uncontrollable laughter. the whole thing lasted around 15 minutes of just basically hysteric non stop laughing and crying.

i'm lucky my mum and dad were both home and i had someone with me.

i had no control of my body, it was so scary and i'm petrified of it happening again when i'm out in public and not at home

i don't even know what started it

have any of you guys had this?

i'm actually REALLY scared, i don't even know how to express how it made me feel

;[

Nattsie from what I understand that is part of the weaning off process of Cymbalta. Hang in there sweet friend. The ppl here will hang with you as will I. I am so glad to have found this forum. Much love support and prayers..TheEquusWoman

I just had this happen last night, I was on day 3 cold turkey. I was laughing so hard that I was crying and had a hard time catching my breath. It lasted about 10 minutes or so, certainly something I wasn't expecting!

Momtoboys, welcome to the site. Cold turkey can be real tough on this stuff. Hang tough and if there is anything we can do let us know.

Thanks for posting. I just experienced the random laughter. It's easier to accept the random crying. I am afraid to go out in public and laugh for no reason. I can hide most of the symptoms,

Read so many painful stories on here and offering others support while trying to heal myself from cymbalta and other antidepressents.

Geebers

I'd take the uncontrollable laugher any day over some of the other symptoms.  Laughter is healthy....it replaces the stress hormone with the feel good hormone..especially if you are experiencing a bit of depression......so keep laughing, it's a great work out for the abs as well....... :)
