I've been on Cymbalta in conjunction with Inderal to help control migraine (which I've suffered from for 30 years). Combined, this cocktail has had the best results I've ever had with keeping migraine at bay. I am now weaning off both since I'm in menopause and have had very few headaches in recent months. My doc believes it's a good time to wean, esp since he thinks I've been on the Cymbalta long enough. I'm doing it very very slowly, reducing by 10 mg of each on a weekly basis. The side effects have been minimal. Next week I'll be down to 20 mg of Cymbalta and 10 mg of Inderal daily. Anyone out there on a similar regimen for withdrawal? What can I expect when I'm down to zero? I'm worried about it because a year ago I unintentionally went cold turkey when I took a trip abroad and forgot my pills at home. For days I thought I was going crazy....couldn't think straight, felt dizzy, wanted to be in bed all the time, basically felt depressed and out of it. Will this return when I'm down to no meds? Thanks for your help!

Sounds like your body is adjusting well with your weaning schedule. I would keep doing just what you are as long as you feel good. Going from 20mg to zero may be an issue? But maybe not for you. I hope that you are the one it doesn't really affect. You can read threads here regarding what others have done to lower their dose of 20 mg to less dosages, and not dropping from 20 to zero. Like finding a pharmacy that will split the 20 mg pills, or actually doing it themselves. This is really tricky, as Cymbalta is time release, and one has to be really careful not to crush the beads, which could lead to getting too much medicine at once.
Stay healthy, eat well, and you are so lucky the migraines are lessening. I am a migraine sufferer and menopause hasn't helped any. But, I LOVE being off Cymbalta!
Love to hear how you are doing. Your posting will help others and is a great testament to the fact we all wean differently. Thanks for sharing your story.
