That sounds great Nattsie!!! I am so proud of you. You came off real slow so I am optimistic that any future withdrawal may not be too bad.

Good to hear that it's going ok Nattsie. Hope it continues to go well and your brain flapping stops all together.

Glad you are Cymbalta free.

hey guys, just thought i'd update you all

so i've been cymbalta free since tuesday now and i've been going okay, especially the last couple of days. i'm still having what i call "brain flapping" where my head kind of "flaps" inside.. lol and i'm not sleeping all that well but i've been back exercising the last couple of days, walking my dog, going to the shops, etc.

although i don't know what the days will bring in the next couple of weeks, i'm just trying to stay positive and focus on little achievements like being able to exercise again without fear of passing out haha

i had a blood test last week so i'm booked in to get my results on monday so I will let you all know how that goes

hope you're all going okay too!!

here for all of you xoxo

nattsie...Thank U so very much for the update. I am so excited for you. Maybe the brain flapping will stop in the near future. Yes please let us know what your lab results are when you find out Monday. Prayers continue as does love and support! TheEquusWoman

another little update... yesterday I didn't have any nausea, headaches or anything BUT it's 330am now though and i haven' t slept at all, i'm like .... so awake it's insane.

i've tried eating a couple of things, drinking tea, watching some meditation things on youtube, listening to some things i have downloaded on my iPod, etc but seriously so awake

i really want to sleep :[

Natalie

I had the same issue with sleep once I had weaned off. There's a huge temptation to address the sleep problem with drugs like Zopiclone or even one of the  benzodiazepines like Valium or Ativan that you might have in your medicine cabinet. Don't. How do I know? I tried it, and the problem became compound with a symphony of withdrawal symptoms from a variety of sources. It screwed me up even more.

Try this: Set your alarm for 0800 and get up and get at it. Don't nap during the day; find things to do. Do jobs that boost your spirit: clean out the fridge; straighten up your closet; organize your books. When you lay down to sleep at night you'll be tired. When you find you still can't sleep, avoid the bright screens of computers and television, for they act on your brain like sunlight- read a real book instead.

When you allow anger to build as you lay there awake, adrenalin is released. Now there's a drug that will really keep you awake!

While it is easy to talk about 'acceptance', it's difficult to do; it's counter-intuitive to accept something that you feel is negative, you want to fight it. But give acceptance a chance- accept the sleeplessness- it's there and it's real. Not accepting it produces adrenalin, and you know where that goes.

The sleeplessness is one of the most confounding withdrawal symptoms to address, but you can do it. Really, much of the tough stuff is behind you now, but the next couple of months will require some mindful housekeeping as you move forward and heal your brain.

Best wishes young lady!
