Fishinghat- is there any information regarding the kind of withdrawal slope (consider time and initial dosage), that is proven to eliminate the brain zaps?

It would be nice to create an anecdotal Time/Dosage/Symptom graph.

I reduced from 30 mg to 0 over 43 days, which is about 2.3% additional per day. I got the brain zaps on the 19th day of tapering off (5-6 zaps per day over 6 days). But it's not just the zaps, other symptoms are equally disturbing.

I believe my withdrawal was too quick, and now feel 100 days would have been better. Perhaps we ought to encourage some record-keeping and create such a graph or guide.

All the best.

Thismoment, there is nothing in the research. Matter of fact the only thing I can find is just references to them as withdrawal side effects. I imagine that you could start by going back through a lot of the old posts but man that would be some work to say the least. There would also be some complecations allowing for people who go back up in dosage to stablize or change drop rates, etc. Myself It took me 70 days to come off and the only brain zap was about a week after I hit 0. I started at 60 mg.

Thanks Fishinghat. You're right, there would be just too many variables to make a meaningful graph from current anecdotal information.

I think it's significant that your brain zaps weren't protracted- surely your 70-day regimen worked well. And I think it's clear that the slow, linear (with resting pauses), withdrawal is the way to go.

Of course most of us want it 'all over' at Bead Zero, but there is still healing to be done in the months that follow.

Hope you are well!

JMHO but you both are so helpful. There are others, of course. However when I found this forum your names are the ones who encouraged me and helped me to understand bead counting. That will be the only way I will make it thru and make it thru Cymbalta hell. It's true I wanted to be done "now"....I have learned patience. I have dropped steady. I have had to add a bead or two back or stay at the same count until my brain and body could stabilize. I thank God for this Cymbalta forum. I am determined to be free from this nasty mind altering drug in the future. No matter how long it takes. . TheEquusWoman. ♥
