I wonder how Donnaprashad is doing. She was fierce; I'm sure she's fine.

Glad you mentioned her, TM ... she's an attorney, with her own law firm ... I'm going to track her down via Martindale-Hubbell, the national listing reference for attorneys.... she needs to know about the Knox Ricksen firm and it's Cymbalta withdrawal syndrome case/project .... then again, as you say, she's "fierce" ... so she may already know/be involved!

I was weaned off for 30 days only by doctor! I suffered greatly. I'm still suffering nearly 2.5 years later. I did drop weight after like 5 -6 months after stopping cymbalta. About 40- 50 lbs. I too ran while on cymbalta and ran a marathon and did not lose weight.

Interesting topic... like all of you I've also put on over 50 lbs.. gave up with trying to loose cuz I got no where.. I celebrated 4 months this week.. BUT I've been noticing that I feel as thought I'm loosing weight.. I'm not trying.  I had a pile of jeans that did not fit. I decided to clean out my closet last week and get rid of things that no longer fit. for the heck of it I tried them on.. And most of them fit. couldn't believe it. I was not expecting this to be happening.. But after reading this well.. I'm thrilled.. been through hell this past year so I guess a little boost in moral with the small weight loss is good.. I've noticed I'm not really hungry. But trying to eat healthy and may be that is adding to my recovery.... good luck to you all.

Now that I have been off this poison for over 6 years, I hope to help others as they join us

dlmj...

Congratulations on 4 months off!  Yaaaay!!! :D

And the weight loss makes it a double whammy! :D  Isn't it wonderful?  I too had gained weight while on the crap and no matter what I did, including working out, I couldn't lose a pound.  Very slowly, and I mean slowly, it started to come off after I had been off about the same amount of time as you are now.  So far I have lost 1/2 the weight I gained but I have now been off 9 months! :(

I have been eating well, but not much - like you, I find that I am not very hungry most of the time.  I have no doubt that the rest of the weight will eventually come off - after all, it didn't all come on at one time!

Good work, girl - hang in there!

Liz

This was my life too and scarily I had no self awareness that I was as bad as I was. Still struggling to rid myself of this poison, however your posts gives me great hope that I still have a long way to go and will continue to get better and better. Thank you for sharing! 😊

@Donnaprashad: I know how you feel about the "freeing" feeling! I saw my GP for a cold last week and I balked when he asked to weigh me. He said, "I want to keep a record so you know what the medication is doing to you," and when he saw how much I'd gained he looked me straight in the eye and said, "You know this isn't your fault, right? This is entirely the medication. You're not doing ANYTHING wrong." I could have wept.

This is not your fault, either!

Omg. I thought I was crazy. I gained 40lbs despite being a runner, doing MMA 5x a week, and eating a mostly vegetarian diet. I've been off cymbalta for 1 day. If this weight goes away, I'll be so happy

Flo,

Not to worry!  It will come off and if you keep up the exercise it should be rather quickly!  I gained 30 lbs and have lost most of it now.  You will find that your appetite will decrease as you progress on your down dosing.  I had gone to the gym, had a personal trainer and couldn't lose a pound!

It's unbelievable how it will start falling off - don't give it another thought!  The best of luck to you!

Hi yashismom

Welcome!

How long have you been on Cymbalta?

How many beads inside each capsule?

What other meds do you take?

Do you have strong anxiety?

Thanks.
