Hi all.  I had to re-evaluate what I want to do regarding my Cymbalta use.

Unlike some of you, I did not have negative side effects from taking Cymbalta.  My reason for wanting to quit is simply to be able to live life clear of substances.

I had set up a schedule to stop taking Cymbalta when I was initially prescribed it.  I had knew that 2013 was going to be a challenge and I needed to just get through the outside challenges without turning to alcohol, which is my weakness and cause of my troubles. As 2013 closed I decided to go ahead with my plan to come off Cymbalta, only to meet my predefined goal.  Cymbalta has actually been a very good medication for my issues.  I know that isn't the case for many people and with a drug that impacts so strongly, making a choice to take or remove this drug from a persons system is a very serious decision.  Coming off of Cymbalta cold turkey was spooky but educational on how sensitive and serious my brains chemical balance is.  It isn't something to mess with.

So anyway - what I have decided to do is to restart my use of Cymbalta for the time being.  I am going to plan to consult with a GP to make sure my physical health is in good order.  It has been quite a while since I have seen a dr. and had a physical , so making sure I am in good physical health is important.  Then I can decide what I want to do regarding my use of Cymbalta.  Ultimately I do want to be substance free, but I really need to plan this well.

Thank you everyone for you help & feedback.

You IMHO must do whatever is best for you. Only you can make that decision. Cymbalta does help some ppl. I just happened to be one of the ones it didn't. I pray that you are able to do whatever it is to make your life a better one. Again that's your decision. Please know that the ppl here care and let us know how you're doing in the future... TheEquusWoman
