There are over 8000 members of this forum alone and I have counted over 60 forums where people are describing their suffering and seeking help from other people.

However in 2012 only 48 people reported an a problem with withdrawal to the FDA.

Most people that are assisted receive help once they have an addiction to Cymbalta. The only way we as a community can prevent people from going through the hell that we are going through is to report our experience to regulatory bodies.

We can make a change and it will only take five minutes of your time.

Today I filed a Yellow card with the MHRA in the UK describing my experience with Cymbalta withdrawal. I have done it on the first occasion I have felt well enough.

In the US use the MedWatch Online Voluntary Reporting Form https://www.accessda...ripts/medwatch/

In the UK use the Online Reporting site for the Yellow Card Scheme https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

If you are from another country please add the link to your regulatory body.

Feel free to join the role of honour when you have filed your report by replying to this threat. Reap the praise and good karma. If you have previously filed a report please reply!

Adam x

This is important, and we've discussed it here before.....Fishinghat has shared some other US links/contacts to file reports...I'll find them and repost on this thread....

I am guilty of not reporting ..... But a number of the others here have...I think xman recently did so.....

My own "excuse" is that I've been so caught up with being sick, and now trying to get my life back together and get back to work, that I haven't taken this action....another thing for me is that I feel such intense anger and revulsion towards the medical, pharmaceutical and regulatory bureaucracies that I do not want to have any contact with them....

Reporting cymbalta issues is a positive use of my anger....thanks for the kick in the patootie....I'll do it!

FN, you have described my feelings exactly. A combination of a feeling of futility with what you have described and the "excuse" are exactly why I haven't managed this for 2 months.

I think if anyone has the capability of making a sticky of a post of this nature that would be a great thing

1. Here's the link to the FDA home page for MedWatch reporting.....

http://www.fda.gov/S...t/ucm053074.htm

It goes along with the MedWatch file report page that BLD posted above...... https://www.accessda...ripts/medwatch/

2. The FDA also has an "Adverse Event Reporting System" (FAERS)..... For reporting adverse events experienced by consumers and medication errors made by healthcare professionals in the United States.....

http://www.fda.gov/D...cts/default.htm

3. Here's an interesting NYT article from last year about unreported side effects....

This is interesting.... Another way to report..... RxISK.org .....

https://www.rxisk.org/Default.aspx

Here's what the RxISK report on cymbalta has to say.....

https://www.rxisk.or...ctName=Cymbalta

This is a nonprofit endeavor, formed by a group of physicians and scientists..... http://wp.rxisk.org/about/#medicalteam

the lead is Dr. David Healy.... "Chief Executive Officer and principal founder of Data Based Medicine Americas Ltd., is an internationally respected psychiatrist, psychopharmacologist, scientist, and author. A professor of Psychiatry at Cardiff University in Wales, David is a former Secretary of the British Association for Psychopharmacology"

Healy and this project were mentioned in a post from 2012 that I read in the archives when I first arrived here....

NOTE and warning: it was co-founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology.....

Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) : "watchdog investigating & exposing psychiatric human rights violations"

One more....

Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP)

https://www.ismp.org...errortoISMP.asp

"The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) operates two national error-reporting programs—the National Medication Errors Reporting Program (ISMP MERP) and the National Vaccine Errors Reporting Program (ISMP VERP). Both are confidential voluntary programs that provide expert analysis of system-based causes of medication and vaccine errors. Through various media outlets, the ISMP communicates recommendations for improving safety. Medication and vaccine errors, preventable adverse drug reactions, close calls, or hazardous conditions may be reported. Examples include, but are not limited to:

Errors in the prescribing, transcribing, dispensing, administering, and monitoring of medications and vaccines;
Wrong drug, wrong strength, or wrong dose errors;
Wrong patient errors;
Confusion over look-alike/sound-alike drugs or similar packaging;
Wrong route of administration errors;
Calculation or preparation errors; and
Misuse of medical equipment."

This is one thing that I agree with the Church of Scientology on. The problem is the rest of their stuff & beliefs is so bad shit mental that it totally discredits any of this as a source.

David Healy is probably the best champion for our cause. His organisation charges a $1000 fee to review your medical history and possible drug issues and prepare a report for your GP. I have set aside $1000 for this. It is a lot of money to me but a great investment I believe.

I reported discontinuation syndrome to the FDA on the second day of my withdrawals. It is very important for anyone dealing with this to report it!
