Happy birthday Lundeliz. You are only a few weeks older than me.

Happy Birthday!
July 1, 1952 was a Tuesday. Harry S. Truman was the President of the United States and High Noon with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly was in the theatres. East of Eden by John Steinbeck was about to be released to hungry bookshelves around the world, and Kiss of Fire by Georgia Gibbs was the Jukebox favorite song! With Europe still sweeping up after WWII, America was booming: motherhood was blooming; and babies born in 1952 would later be called 'boomers' based on their exploding numbers!

Hi everyone. Just thought I would check in today. I'm 8 1/2 months off Cymbalta now, and
still struggling. I'm off all meds, finished up my atenolol taper about two weeks ago. Some
symptoms improve, and others take their place. Thankfully, the akathisia is gone most days,
and I have mild episodes some days. Anxiety is better. The pressure headaches are getting
better. Now I've been hit with inflammation type symptoms. Joints and muscles hurt and I have
bladder inflammation and I'm terribly weak. Life still feels very difficult, but I know things are better
overall. I'm up and about more, not spending so much time in bed. This just takes longer for some
of us it seems. I'm trying hard to stay patient, and I do believe it will all go away one day. Hang in
there everybody!

Thank you for your update, Lundeliz...
I'm sorry that you have been feeling so badly but how wonderful to be off all meds! I'm sure that all will improve as time goes on - although I know that you have spent enough of that time waiting for this to happen.
Thankfully, you are able to be up and about more...God Bless

Good for you! I too am off all meds. Sorry to hear you are still struggling, but I don't think that's abnormal.
Your experience parallels mine, and you will continue to improve. I am off 2 years, and symptoms rarely re-appear, but it happens-- but now it's a lot easier and I'm not tempted to run to the doctor as I used to. The recurrent joint and muscle pains still appears, and I still have tinnitus in my left ear, and a (so far) permanent tension-type headache which I hardly notice anymore.
If you and I represent the model, then there is vast improvement by 6 months, but discontinuation goes on well beyond that, and its ending may never be realized in a satisfying click-it's over! Surely TFL, Gail, Wagtail, and FN will attest to this. It gets better by coffee spoons, not buckets or even soup ladles.
"I have seen patients who have continued to improve well beyond two years." This is from an email from Dr. Stuart Shipko to me.
Hang in there my friend and try to find some engaging distractions.
Take care.
