DTG, no, I don't think Clara meant to frighten you ... it's just that the generic, which has so many fewer beads than the brand, can be a bit more of a challenge to do the bead counting with ... because there are fewer beads, each bead contains more of the crapalta... so reducing by just one bead in the generic is like reducing by a lot of beads in the brand...
TM and FH have much better explanations and understanding of this ... I'm math-challenged, so can't figure out dosing stuff, and besides, I quit cold turkey, which "disqualifies" me from giving authoritative advice.

FN hit the main point. Each time your reduce one pellet you reduce 16% or 10 mg. That is a big jump as the idea to weaning is to come off very slowly so the withdrawal isn't as bad. With the brand name Cymbalta, it contained 200 plus beads, you could reduce 2 or 3 beads a day and let yourself down slowly. Given you only have six beads my recommendation would to be drop one bead every 2 to 3 weeks. If at any time your withdrawal gets too bad just stay at that level until you settle down and then go back to dropping beads.
By the way....Your dr is an idiot.

That makes sense. I was planning on taking 6 months to taper going down one bead each month. I hope the withdrawal won't be horrendous!

Yes I agree with FN and FH-
16% (one bead) is a steep drop that will surely bring on withdrawal symptoms. But the symptoms may not be that strong and will level off after a few weeks. Might take a month, but hopefully less. Then you can drop another bead. If you dropped one bead a month that would be six months which is a moderate-rate descent. You can do this.
