Tan, hi! Just noticed you're here, and wanted to catch you ... the trouble with the beads is common ... someone else has used your "finger tip" method ... I'll check the archives and see if I can find their post ...

ohh I think it's okay to use finger then, thank you FiveNotions : ))

I just started tapering yesterday. I took 2 % = 11 bead from 560 and I felt nausea, headache, tired, couldn't concentrate and depression(worst, it seems endless !!) Should I drop the rate down or doing something ?

Thank You :)

Kwan

Let the symptoms be your guide-- if symptoms are strong, slow down. Consider 1% per day over 100 days. Or .5% over 200 days-- don't suffer if you don't have to; quality of life is all that matters-- it's not a race to get done quickly. Go slow!

Best wishes.

Thank you Thismoment :))
Just wondering, my psychiatrist suggested that I should use Prozac as the bridged for quitting cymbalta. My plan is to take prozac for 2 weeks(making it well stabilised) then I decrease cymbalta from 40 mg to 30 mg(because I have been beat counting before I take prozac) Have you guys ever tried this one ? Need advice
Thank you a lot :)))

Tan

You've been on Cymbalta for a short time, but your strategy for withdrawing has been inconsistent. You can't use large steps like 60 mg to 30 mg; you have to taper off slowly with no big steps.

Here is what I would do: I'd reinstate on Cymbalta to the last dosage where I was stable, and get feeling stable again (might take a week or two). I would forget the Prozac idea. After I felt stable I would taper off at the rate of 1% per day over 100 days.

Take care.

Yes I tried prozac for a switch over. Unluckily it did not work for me. A problem you probably would not have. But just a note, everything I have read and been told by drs about prozac is that it takes 6 to 8 weeks to become full strength in your system. You might want to check that out.
