I have a couple of friends who also sense a spike in melancholy and irritability in the 3 days prior to the New Moon. Even if it's imagined, it serves the function of bracketing the month's down-days-- if I could just keep it to three! lol

I've been following your job-quest, and I wish you all the best in that endeavour! Surely you will succeed, and that success will open the floodgate of subsequent successes!
