I'm weaning off the cymbalta (prescribed for fibro.) and experiencing many of the horrible effects others have described, including brain zaps and dizziness. I'm determined to avoid any other fibro drugs now that I know how awful these side effects and withdrawl symptoms can be so I've started doing yoga daily since it's one of the best exercises for fibro. No matter how much I don't want to work out, my desire to never again go through a withdrawl like this is stronger.

The great thing I've noticed is that I'm not dizzy or getting the brain zaps during the practice. It's so nice to have a break from these sensations while still being awake! I'm doing gentle (hatha) yoga to keep the intensity/balance on the easier side. doyogawithme.com has a ton of great, free videos you can do at home and you can search by yoga type, difficulty level, and instructor.

Yes! Find distractions to take your mind off the symptoms of withdrawal: yoga, hiking, team sports, artwork, restoring an old car, building a canoe.

Fill mental bandwidth with things other than the symptoms.
