This is my 4th day without any Cymbalta. I am on a Cymbalta-Welbutrin cocktail so I thought the withdrawals wouldn't be as horrible as the first 2 attempts. However, I felt them going from 60mg to 30mg (I did this in one day). My Dr., like everyone elses said to do this, then to take 30mg every other day if I had no weaning affects. Well, the withdrawals have been aweful, but I sooo do not want to take this anymore! I was at least hoping the welbutrin would help me out! Today I decided to take half of my 30mg in a glass of water...my tongue is numb! No wonder I havent felt anything in a year. Well, anways, I am wondering if ANYONE has had a successful wean. Has anyone gotten off of this drug? Has anyone stopped completely, is on no anti-depressants, and is having no withdrawals???? While it is nice to see that others are going through the same affects, it would be so much more encouraging to know that someone is done it, a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

Yes that person would be a blessing to find. The one that had an easy time with Cymbalta wtihdrawal. But I figure, if you are having an easy time, you aren't going to seek out help!

This is my 44th day without Cymbalta. I started to feel better from the whole experience on day 41. It was like a fog started to lift.

I have no desire to go back on any anti-depressant, this withdrawal kicked my butt but it didn't win.

My best wishes to everyone else out there. I hope that you find ways to wean that are gentle and kind to your physical and mental health.

well, im not saying i want to find someone who had an easy withdrawal. i just want to know of someone who actually has successfully stopped taking the drug. someone who suffered withdrawal but is now totally fine and feeling healthy and
has been off it withdrawal free for maybe 2 or 3 months.

Mendozen,

I hope that I will be able to report this happy information to you in the upcoming days. I am only at a month and a half. But I can say that things are much better than they were a couple of weeks ago.

My shrink says that his patients (other than me) went off of Cymbalta with no issues. My evil twin wants to post his phone number so that we can call and ask for their names!! :ugeek: :ugeek:

Seriously, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. After the time I have under my belt, I am not going back, so I hope to be of some comfort that things get better progressively and most important, I hope that you find yourself feeling yourself again soon.

Peace

Are you eating well, or are you taking vitamins and trying to get some sunshine and exersize? I know those aren't the total answers to what you are feeling, but I think taking care of your whole self will help while trying to heal your mind from this drug. I feel very repeptative, but in case you haven't read the other posts, try using a good Omega 3 supplement, protein drinks from your health food store, using a multi vitamin, drinking green tea, (decaf), and when you are feeling a total lack of energy, try to make yourself get up and do something physical, even if it is just some laundry, dishes or other household chores. A friend told me that is how she manages her panic attacks, and it has also worked when I am feeling awful. Just moving your body, and keeping your mind occupied with something helps. I was finding myself staying so focused on how bad I was feeling, and spending a lot of time reading other stories, that it kind of started to swallow me up. I do think sharing stories is great, yet you have to get outside of yourself and think of other things too. At least that is how it is with me. Don't let the withdrawal monster take over, because it sure seems like it can in many ways.

Tired08

I cried uncle and sought the help of another psychiatrist, who told me that I should never have been dropped from 30 mg to nothing. Made it 45 days cold turkey before almost losing my mind wondering if I would ever feel like I was human again.

If you are still feeling poorly, please seek out the help you need. I am sending good thoughts to you. My new psychiatrist did not try to put me back on Cymbalta. She put me on a low dose of Celexa, which is supposedly an easier anti-depressant to come off of. Will let you know how it worked.

But, after 6 weeks, if you aren't feeling much better, please don't suffer.
