It's been 2 weeks I'm completely off Cymbalta after taking it for about 2 years. I've been weaning off progessively from 60 to 0 mg over a 2 month period.
The brain zaps, which were the most unconfortable withdrawals symptoms, have almost disappeared, which is quite a relief.
However, since about 2-3 weeks, I've been having problems with my skin and I'm wondering if this can be a withdrawal symptom : light to moderate rashes, pustulas in concentrated areas, skin sensitivity, small red zits, bigger white zits that appear when I scratch myself. It's mostly noticeable around the wrist, neck and arms.
I've used over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream for about 1 week and haven't seen any change, in fact I feel it's getting worse.
Have anyone experienced something similar ? I was afraid there was bedbugs in my appartement but my girlfriend has nothing and she is known to have very sensitive skin. I'm wondering if it could also be a combination of factors, because it's also the beginning of allergy season and I regularly go top the public swimming pool.
Any hint would help.
Thank you !
Martin

Hi and welcome.

There have been reports of itchy skin in withdrawal, but I've not heard of something as serious as you describe; perhaps others here know something about this.

I think it's worth a trip to the dermatologist; it actually sounds like local infections are erupting in the affected areas.

There might be a link with the swimming pool chemicals, your personal chemistry, and your diet. The only diet item that comes to mind that's really helpful for skin is Omega 3-- Flaxseed oil.

Congratulations on your withdrawal. It takes some months for it all to diminish, but you are well on your way!

Take care.
