Have had bad side effects from  Cymbalta ever since being at 90 mg.

For a while was dropping 10 beads per day. At a certain point went down to dropping 8 beads per day. Am currently dropping 6 beads (which is 1 mg) per day.

I have not had any withdrawals from this taper. I'm at 22 mgs today.

I am motivated to want to get off this as quickly as possible, since the bad side effects remain. I don't want to speed too quickly and wind up in withdrawals, of course, but on the other hand I don't want to drag out the process if this is going to keep my brain bathed in Cymbalta longer than it needs to be. Some people took it nice and slow with their taper and STILL ended up in withdrawals at the very end.

I am very concerned about what this drug is doing to my brain and central nervous system.

Thoughts welcome.

If no withdrawal at 6 bead drop a day I would stay at that rate for one more week and then consider slowing down to 5 beads. It really is a guessing game. Listen to your body and remember...You are doing great!!!  Really!!

At the rate you're going now, I mg a day, you'll be off in a mont, maybe less...why the heck rush it faster than that? As FH says, you can go faster if your body doesn't tell you otherwise...but my concern is that you were recently hospitalized due to this drug...and I don't think k you should risk any kind of further problems with it... Your system is fragile already from the pounding it's taken ...go easy on yourself...

You're doing great, to repeat FH....!

The reason why I want to go faster is I hate to still be putting it in my body every day. Everything you read on this board is how it's a nerve toxin, a poison. I have not done well on this drug at all. I don't want to prolong the time I have to be on it if it's technically poisoning my nervous system, and if it's causing possibly irreversible damage. Fishinghat wrote recently about it physically damaging dendrites. All of this scares the living daylights out of me. However, your point is well taken - my nervous system has taken a beating the past 5 months, and I don't want to wind up in withdrawals again if I push it too fast.

Ramona, another thought for you. As large a dose and as long as you have been on it any damage is done. Right now you are low enough to be freeing up some of those nerve cells to start healing. Even if you stopped right now those nerve cells wouldn't be able to all heal at once anyway. Time and patience.

Ramona,

I realize my post is a bit delayed but keep going at the slow pace you are on.  Patience in this process will get you

further.

I had to stop my tapering back in August because I was in withdrawal and didn't pay attention to the initial change
I noticed.

Slow and steady will get you there.
