Hi.

I'm wondering what experiences people might be having with high blood sugar and Cymbalta? I have been experiencing some issues lately and am a non diabetic and have no other reason for it. I've read a little bit on here about that happening but not a lot. Just wondering how common a side effect it might be. And also if people find it is transient and gets sorted out eventually on its own or have you become permanently diabetic?

I've been tapering slowly off this drug for many months. Even at a comparatively low dose it still seems to be quite toxic to my system.

Hi Sleepyhead,

I googled antidepressants and hyperglycemia as well as antidepressants and glucose and there is quite a bit of research and anecdotal commentary with varying results - but leaning toward hyper as opposed to hypo. bottom line is it appears there is an association of "dis-regulation" in one direction or the other with antidepressants in general.

FYI

Of the people who have reported side effects to the FDA 0.56% have reported hyperglycemia as a side effect.
