I am so lost right now.  When I have a day that I am feeling okay I just don't know what to do!!!  When I think about doing something I get anxious & end up crying.  I do not know how to control my feelings or thoughts.  I feel weak, confused & lost!!  I try not to think but it is there, I just feel like I am dieing inside!!!  My husband tells me I need to break the cycle by getting up & moving but all I want to do is rest my brain.  Any thoughts????

Hello,

What you are going through is normal and to be expected at five or six weeks.

Getting moving at this phase is real difficult. The thinking gets out of hand and you have almost no control over it.

I would suggest, to rest your mind and body, benadryl total, one and a half tablet(blue).
For those times especially, to give you a break. This will help a lot. It does for myself.

Not to be taken every day, it loses its efficiency if so. Good luck!

I need help and I know I will feel better if I can offer help to others

Hi Deb

For me at that point the best thing I could do for myself was to get up and do something. Even a walk around the block helped.

I don't recommend anything that requires a lot of thinking or planning, just simple things that get your body moving but lets your mind rest. Don't try to concentrate on much and when the thinking gets hold of you do something, anything to distract yourself.

Simple things like cleaning one mirror or dusting one shelf, it doesn't sound like much but it does help distract you without overloading you.

Take care of you

Nancy

Thanks for the responses.  I gave in and started my Wellbutrin SR 150 mg.  I am a little surprised with it though because I thought I was going to be more active but instead I had to lay down & take a nap.  I know it takes time to build up so I am just going to sit back & think positive.  It has calmed my thinking down a little, but I also take Ativan.  Is it normal for me to be like this on Wellbutrin when just beginning?

It would be unusual but not unheard of. Many ADs cause fatigue/sleepiness etc when first taken but that usually fades away within a week.

Now that I have been off this poison for over 6 years, I hope to help others as they join us

Deb, I think that you are still reacting to the original withdrawal.  Since it had been almost 1 1/2 yrs off the C, I had no reaction to the Wellbutrin.  Things just continued to get better.  I started and am still taking 100mg twice a day.  This works well for me.

Before I knew, I was feeling like a new person! :)

Hang in there and good luck!

Interesting Liz!1 I just checked the FDA site and they say that nearly seven percent suffer from fatigue, etc when starting Wellbutrin which is one of the highest rates of the ADs. Most saw the fatigue fade away after 3 to 4 weeks.

Is that okay FH? I have read that if you are experiencing some side effects then that means its working just need to give it the 6-8 wks.  I am not expecting a miracle on the first day but I just don't want to waist my time on anything if its not going to work.  I do like the fact that it has helped with my brain going crazy but don't want to be a zombie, ya know!!!!  I am still going to feel the C withdrawal right???

Unfortunately, in some cases I seem to be the exception...  for instance only .04% of people experience side effects from Magnesium and I am one of them!

Ain't life grand? :P

Just because you experience a side effect does not mean it will work later. There is only one way to tell. Give it the 4 to 6 weeks. I wish I had a better answer than that.

Yes you will feel the Cymbalta withdrawal for the next 3 or 4 weeks and maybe even some trazadone withdrawal (not as bad as Cymbalta). But once the Wellbutrin kicks in things should level out.

It would be nice if your dr was aware of your med changes and gave his input if he could be trusted to not overreact, get offended or get bossy. Many people take a low dose trazadone with Wellbutrin so I don't think you will have an issue with trazadone withdrawal. The time will pass.
