I had to go cold turkey from Cymbalta after 60mg everyday for 2 years and I'm currently in hell.

Hello, I'm Michele and a newbie here to the forum. I've been cymbalta for 2 years for fibromyalgia until the end of Jan 2016. I was forced to stop taking all of my medications because my employer would correct a mistake in my file and wouldn't reinstate my health insurance.

I've been going to through withdraw since then and it is killing my family. My withdraw is so bad my husband has already had to take me to the ER twice and they only shot me up with morphine, anti nausea and a histimen blocker.  When we told them what was going on, they pretty much said I didn't know what I was talking about and that it was problem the flu b/c cymbalta withdraw only takes 2 weeks.

Well, duh ..... that because Eli Lily didn't do any withdraw studies for longer than 2 weeks. We don't know what to do anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. It's hell. Is there any way for you to fill you script? From there you could bead count to get off it, which I am getting ready to do. I'm sure the much wiser and knowledgeable here will give you ideas/advice. I'm new too but just wanted to let you know you're NOT alone.

Hello mmcadams

I have some good news for you. If you are two weeks off Cymbalta then you are just about through the worst part of it. Most people start to see improvements by day 18 to 21 when going cold turkey off Cymbalta.

You can take omega-3, vitamins C & a good B complex to ease symptoms as well and stay well hydrated.

The thing that worries me is that you said that you were forced to stop taking all your medications.

If you do not mind me asking, what other medications were you on. My concern is that this may not just be Cymbalta withdrawals that you are dealing with. I was lucky in that I only had to stop one medication at a time as were most here.

Take care of you

Nancy

So sorry to hear you are going through this.  Unfortunately these Dr's don't have a clue what you are going through.  In my experience the ER visits are common & frustrating because they don't understand.  I totally understand the family part, I have a husband & 2 boys still at home.  My husband became my advocate & has supported me through this.  It's very hard for anyone to understand but be honest w/ your family w/ what you are going through it's not your fought this is happening to you!!!  You have come to the right place for support.  You will find great advise & stories that sound just like what you are going through on this site.
