There is something called non-allergic rhinitis, also known as vasomotor rhinitis. With this, various things you inhale irritate the lining of the nose, causing dilation of the blood vessels, and make the nose run. Things that irritate the nose in this case can be cigarette smoke, dust, etc. (This is different from allergic rhinitis, in which the immune system overreacts to allergens you come in contact with.)
One of the symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis is your nose running when you eat. Ever since I came off Cymbalta months ago, my nose runs when I eat. I also have had what I thought were allergies going haywire (nasal symptoms, asthma, ear problems). I went to an allergist this week and they did a blood test on the panel of common allergens, and to my shock, they all came back negative. Which means my symptoms are more likely due to vasomotor rhinitis. (This rhinitis can cause ear issues and asthma symptoms, too.)
My question is if this has been discussed here or not, and if this is a known issue with withdrawal from Cymbalta. One of the causes of vasomotor rhinitis is stress, and my system has been more stressed from withdrawals than it ever has been.
I am hoping that if it's due to withdrawal stress on my body, that it might eventually go away....
Edited to add: I found an old post from MichGirl who said that she had allergy-like symptoms from withdrawal and she wasn't an allergic type of person, and even taking a sip of cold water made her nose tingle & fill up with mucus. I get that tingle, too, from the slightest thing.
