Hi guys, I'm wondering... I now get up and take 1x 0,5mg alprozolam and then I get through the day almost fine... otherwise I feel like shit.
Is it normal to live like this during the weaning process or must I be scared that I'm getting depressed again?

Perfectly normal. This is a wicked medicine. You are doing fine. Just wait, it will pass.

It's my third week on 10mg and I must say that I don't feel much progression. I get up at 7.30h and feel like Shit... I try to focus on some positivism but I can't stick with it... 09.00h I take my first 0,25mg alprazolam and after that I get better as from 10.00h...

How long does it take to f... Stabilize again? 3 weeks without much progression.
I presume that further lowering is stupid to do now?

All you need is patience. 2 weeks, 4 weeks 3 months. It is hard to tell but you don't seem to be getting worse so things should start settling down soon. Definitely do not drop anymore. Just patience.

Yep. you can tell when things start getting better because you will need less and less alprozolam to get by.

Now that I have been off this poison for over 6 years, I hope to help others as they join us

Posted 21 February 2017 - 02:29 PM

Yep, I was big on the Alprazolam - don't remember if I posted this for you, but I was up to 3mg/day...

The anxiety was intolerable for me - one of the worst things I have ever experienced - it was all new to me and unfortunately lasted approximately 1 1/2 years and still shows up on occasion

Just remember - keep yourself comfortable and listen to your body!

Liz

Hi HTSP,

Count your blessings, just to be able to focus on something is something. Hang on to the mast!

Any withdrawal can cause a feeling of pressure in the chest. It is like a big rubber band around the chest.

I would add that anxiety can do all sorts of stupid things, like tightening only one side of your chest. Could have been something else. Mystery!

I think it's really withdrawal because I'm so tense inside without reason the last 3 days. A little alprazolam again to temper, that's been 3 weeks that I took it.

it's also sometimes that I have moodswings for a couple of hours and then I'm back fine again.

Is this also a characteristic of withdrawal guys?

Absolutely, and when you feel bad you feel like it will last forever and then when you feel good again you are sure you are back to normal and the bad days are over. What a rollercoaster.

I feel like my head is stuck in the middle. I think I have to stabilize further more before lowering. Guess it's withdrawal don't you think?

Those last few beads are the hardest and require patience. Good luck.

I think I'm going to lower 1mg by 2 beads a day and after 1mg I stay on it for 5 days.
