Hi, I'm new here.

I've been on the generic Duloxetine 60mg for about 2 months and due to my insurance not being renewed on time and being unable to afford a bloody $450 med, had to drop from two 30mg tablets a day to one a day with the last three pills I had. I've been out for about four days now and today woke up dizzy. After ruling out dehydration and the Clonazepam I took to help get me to sleep, I thought it may be BPPV again.

Now, for those who don't know, BPPV stands for Benign Paroxysmal Positioning Vertigo, a condition where the magical ear rocks that tell your brain what "up" is get loosened then lodged in places where they shouldn't be, telling your brain "up" is in about six different directions at the same time. I've had cases of BPPV twice in the past two years, one went away on its own after five days and the second I learned of an exercise (half somersault by Dr Carol Foster, tutorial on youtube for those interested) that fixed me up after two iterations.

I've tried that exercise 3 times now and it hasn't done crap.

Furthermore, the vertigo seems a bit different than the last time I experienced it: less severe, head cock doesn't relieve it, way worse when moving eyes alone. I've been wondering for a while now if it isn't due to Cymbalta withdrawal. I'm wondering if the rotten night I had trying to get to sleep before giving up and popping a Clonazepam at 4am wasn't just a usual bad night. I'm wondering if my rage at all humans I encounter today isn't just another bad day of depressive rage and anxiety. Could it be...

Cymbalta withdrawal?!?! :o

I dunno, I don't have any way to test it without MOAR DRUGS WOO! I'm just tired of feeling like puking and wondering if I'LL start seeing clowns that are wastebaskets in disguise. How severe does a sudden withdrawal from 60mg dose of two months get if day four starts with dizziness and mood swings?

Pleasure to meet you all.

Hi Mag,

For sure Cymbalta withdrawal symptoms. I know that it's not a good idea to switch from the Cymbalta brand to a generic.

But, it can be done in this situation. So much cheaper that the brand C.

Two months is a short time, perhaps jumping straight to 30mg of the generic will be fine for you. It is for many. Then they bead count or if they think that they need to be on an antidepressant, they will opt with one that has a longer half life, like Zoloft ot Prozac.

Before Cymbalta, were you on something else? Why? Info to help us help you.

Others will chime in!

Gail is right. Classic Cymbalta withdrawal dizziness. Day four is nothing compared to in a couple weeks. The FDA and manufacturer warn of suicide thoughts, suicide, seizures, etc from rapid withdrawal. I highly suggest you get back on it or another antidepressant right away and then stabilize before weaning slowly.
