So I know people have said you have to REALLY slow down once you get below 10 beads. I was going down 3 a day and will be at 10 beads starting tomorrow.  What is the recommendation for taping at this point.  Is it 1 bead a day, or 1 bead and hold for a few days?  And if so, how many days?  I've been doing fairly well, and am afraid to mess myself up now that I am so close to being done!

Hi Jessica

It does sound like you are doing well. If you feel fairly stable I would suggest one bead every days but that is just my opinion.

Thanks, Fishinghat!  So at 1 bead a day, I'll be done in 11 days!!  I guess if I start having issues, I'll stay on that count until steady, then continue.  Just can't wait to be done, but know that I can't rush it!  Too close now!

JP, congratulations!

I hit the 10 bead milestone yesterday (Saturday). Today I took 9 beads. I intend to go down one bead/day until I get to 5. From 5 to 1, I plan to hold each dosage for 2 days. I plan to take 1 bead on the last 3 days before going to zero.

That extends my taper for an additional week, but I'm so close to the end that I don't mind spending the extra time getting to zero. My last day on Cymbalta should be Labor Day Saturday.

Please keep us posted on your results. Good luck!

So today is day 6 Cymbalta free.  Thought I had beat this, as really wasn't feeling too bad the past few days.  Mostly had minor stomach issues and just a general blah feeling, but then today....BAM!!  I woke up so dizzy!  I actually had to hold on to walls to walk!  I have an hour drive to work, and by the time I got to work, my knuckles were white from being so petrified to be driving!  Now, my whole body feels like I am having tremors.  And in a meeting, I seriously couldn't put a full sentence together. Felt like a bumbling idiot!

So, is there a point where you peak during withdrawal after no more Cymbalta in your system?  Do you think I'll get worse before I start seeing improvement?  I know it can take up to 12 weeks, so just need to know what the next 11 weeks have in store.

It varies a lot JP. Typically it peaks between week 8 and 12. The dizziness nausea is first. As it fades it is usually replaced by emotional swings from wild crying spells to rage. Having said that, I am a little optimistic about your situation. These symptoms usually start around the 10 bead mark and by the stage you are at now, 6 days free, you should be starting the mood swings. I think, just my opinion, that you will have milder symptoms than most but it will still be a wild ride.

Hang in there  You might check out the second post at...

This is what others have tried for nausea and dizziness. Maybe it can help.

Thanks Fishinghat!  I've had the dizziness throughout the withdrawal, and when it got bad, I stabilized, then started dropping beads again.  Now that I'm completely done, I'm just hoping it isn't going to get worse.  I've tried the benedryl, but doesn't really help much.  Definitely have been noticing that I'm weepier than normal, and have been short with my family, so that may be starting.  The last 10 beads took forever...almost 2 months.  I just took it really slow.  Still hard to believe how eliminating that LAST freaking bead could have so much impact!  Guess I'll just buckle my seat belt and hang on for the ride!

Just wanted to check to see how you made out!  Are you off now?  My last 10 beads took 2 full months to wean to 0.
