I got on Cymbalta due to pain & inability to move/function due to fibro myalgia. Been on med for 5 years now. On 60mg./day. Lost insurance so I'm going cold turkey. Been a week off already. I already knew about the brain zaps. Good to read on here they go away. I've been experiencing mood dips, fatigue, all my pains & aches are back but I'm still able to walk so I'm hopeful.
My fears are when all withdrawals are gone, med gone fully from my system. Will I be able to walk without a can or walker? Or get out of bed? Generally function? I'm only 47 years old & on the med I could barely handle a few hours with my 3 year old granddaughter. I'm not ready to be an invalid!

Welcome toosdae
Many on this site were put on Cymbalta for fibro. Usually the pain is worse when withdrawing but returns to the level you experienced before Cymbalta. I am sorry about your loss of insurance and hope that everything comes out OK. Let us know if there is anyway we can help. We are here for you.

Hi toosdae! I'm a fellow fibro sufferer and in the middle of tapering. I tapered from 60 to 30 mg then stayed there for a while to get over all the side effects, which after a few weeks did get better. Now I'm trying to do the second part from 30 down and yes the symptoms are all worse again. But I have hopes that it will again stabilize and at least not be worse than before once I am completely off. So sorry you have lost insurance. It must be really hard to go cold turkey. I definitely found the fish oil/ omega supplements and vitamin c advice from fishinghat to be very helpful. I am now walking with a cane on my bad days, keeping mobile is so important! Loss of mobility is a downward spiral. Take care and keep us posted.
