Hi Big Al

You are right on schedule. lol

The digestive symptoms usually start to fade around week 3 to 5 off the drug. You may not yet be at the peak for your emotional symptoms but close. Usually around 8 weeks off you will occasionally get a good day here and there. After 6 to 8 months off you should feel fair and complete recovery within a year. Having said that, that was a generality. We have had people with only 2 or 4 weeks of minor withdrawal and even one that took nearly 5 years to really fully recover. Let us hope yours is a quick recovery.

Hi Fishinghat,

Thank you for the info! Oh dear I have stomach ache and constipation at 11 weeks off, I guess I'd better get checked on the safe side! Its comforting to know that there's possible light at the end of the tunnel with the emotional issues! It's so easy to just want to go back on the drug outta fear that you won't be ok without it! Horrible horrible stuff! I have to be so careful to not think or be negative otherwise it spirals into a world of crap!

Ive been searching for answers and I'm finally finding them!

thank you

Yea, 11 weeks is a little long for most. Are there no signs of it getting better?

Fishinghat, 4 more years left from the 10 years withdrawal? You mean once you're done weaning from Lorazepam then Zoloft, it will take 4 more years? I hope it will go smoothly for you through your transition as you get there.

I started Prozac 5mgs, half a 10 mg tablet today, so far I haven't gotten sick yet from this medication, too soon to say. The next 2 days on this dosage before increasing to 10 and onwards to 20mgs, hopefully it will kick in soon.

My order of those magnesium tablets came in, it says on the bottle to take up to 4 times a day - would that be too much magnesium? I haven't had the chance to look into B complex vitamins yet, I do know B12 would be good. I usually have an orange every day for Vitamin C, I probably need more of it.

So far, today was a bit more tolerable, was able to drive to my appointment with less confusions, my vision is a bit more clearer than Monday ago - though I am still sensitive to the lights, sounds and mild ear ringing. Muscle weakness still there, not as bad as last week, the burning sensations, the tingling on my feet and hands is not as bad. Managed to go to grocery store to some food shopping, I took my time not to rush around, and going home was not as bad like Monday was.

I noticed I am less itchy today.  Maybe this is a sign the withdrawal is lessening - can't say for sure, I will have to be patient and adjust.

I hope everyone here is doing okay

The typical dose of magnesium would normally be determined off your blood tests from your last physical. If you don't have anything recent then I would recommend no more than 100 mg three times per day. Many people find B vitamins helpful but it varies. Use caution as Vitamin B allergies are fairly common. Start at a low dose and work up.

You are off to a good start so just stick with it and keep us posted.

By the way...2 years left on the lorazepam and then I expect 2 years or so on the Zoloft. Time will tell.

Okay, then I will start 3 times a day with the magnesium, will ask the doctor for check on it when I see her after the holidays. I just thought of something about B complex, would it cause too much energy? I never thought of it about Vitamin B allergies. I do take B12 shots monthly, I probably should B complex 50 to start.

Today I'm just a bit anxious, I know it's expected from this and starting on the Prozac it can happen until it kicks on later. I will stick to it and not give up :) I am going to be home for the day, so I will just stay away from stress, hydrate and think positive. I actually have my crockpot on, cooking beef stew - been awhile. I noticed I been craving for carbs. I just posted in about the side effects and withdrawal effects in the forum.

Members reactions have varied a lot when takin g B vitamins. Most claim a slight benefit and there are a few who mention nervousness but who knows. It could just be anxiety. Hard to tell. Many pdocs recommend a good multi B vitamin for a depression and/or anxiety treatment. I don't see a problem with that but just like any other drug/medicine/supplement it is always safer to start low and build up. but
