Hello all,

After being on a taper from 80mg-40mg-20mg, i was at 20mg for 4 weeks. This is where the trauma began :(.

On the 5th week, at 20mg, i suddenly had diarrhea for 2 days. I thought it was a stomach bug, had to be taken to the ER because of dehydration (this was 2 days ago) .

After this everything went down hill. At the ER, they put me on fluids and my body began shaking violently. It wasn't seizure, but my body has been shaking ever since. My head feels out of place and extreme weakness.

Apart from the nervous weakness, i'm not depressed.

Do you guys think this is actually a withdrawal symptom or actually stomach flu ?

I have missed work for 3 days already   and i'm the lead architect there.

Mor than that, i feel horrible overall  .

Will benadryl or tylenol actually help ? Please help

Sorry you are not feeling well. with this nasty flu going around it can be hard to tell what it is.

Withdrawal can start with flu like symptoms so that is a good question. If I understand correctly you are on 20 mg right now. Once choice is to take 30 mg for one day only and see if there is a major improvement. The other is to take some over the counter meds for the diarrhea (so you don't get dehydrated again). Many used pepto, Imodium or kao pectate with goof success for the diarrhea. If you start having anxiety/depression develop it will probably be withdrawal. If going to 30 mg helps you may want to stay there until stable and then bead count your way down.

Please let us know how you do.

Hang in there.
