My son is 18 and on 60 mg Cymbalta.  He is addicted to nicotine so the doc would like to transition him to Wellbutrin to help.  I know that Zoloft, Prozac and Lexapro are used to bridge but haven't heard much about Wellbutrin.

Would the strategy of cross taper still work with Welbutrin?

Absolutely. Many on this site have made that transition. Like all transitions it will have its ups and downs and it takes Wellbutrin around 6 to 8 weeks to kick in.

ok thank you!  good to know that if he decides to get help with this, the wellbutrin will be an acceptable bridge.
