My 30mg capsules have 180 beads. I've been removing beads and currently am taking 59 beads. I've been putting the discarded beads (from Sept -Feb) in slots of one of those daily pill boxes. Instead of using a new pill I started using those to make up my capsules i take each week.. Is that ok or do you think they would loss effectiveness being outside the capsule? Just thought about that.

Many members do that. They never mentioned a problem.

Hope you are doing Ok and things continue to run smoothly.

Had just thought of that because I had quite a few beads and obviously some are older than others. But the oldest were from Sept, I guess that's ok.

Feeling better than last week. Still having palpitations, racing heart rate and shaky feeling. Have been stuck again at 59 beads. I'm sure some is from my previous tapering with the atenolol at the same time (which I am no longer doing). Too much for the body. Advice to all. Don't try to taper two drugs at once and go slow with the cymbalta. You may think you are tolerating your faster withdrawal but it can hit you later and you will really wish you went slower. I've been tapering from 30 mg since Sept and as slow as that is, my body is not happy with me. So everyone listen to Fishhat.

Coming off cymbalta (or determined to come off it)

Posted 08 March 2018 - 08:21 PM

I happily drop the beads I take out in the garbage disposal one by one using tweezers... I am excited to get up every day and start counting beads...

I am anxious about the future in case it brings me any side effects long term.

I have been taking Cymbalta or generic equivalent for close on 10 years.

When I started I was in real major depression having been depressed 8 years and then suffering a series of traumatic events that left me with little will to live.

My doctor gave me 30mg samples every month because I had no insurance, and as things improved it was increased to 60mg that insurance paid for ($380)

It was magic to start with it really worked wonders. Around 4 years ago I realized that I was no longer depressed and that many events and things in my current life as well as coming to terms with a lot changed the way that I feel and think.

Then for me all I saw was the side effects and the cost of the prescription.

I was totally naive when it came to side effects! The only thing that made me realize there are any side effects was when I lost my job and insurance and had to wait for the state insurance to start paying for prescriptions.

The 10 days without cymbalta were hell.

Even though the cost of the generic equivalent is now just $86 and I could afford it when the insurance runs out, I am doing this no matter what any doctor says!

Since reducing the beads I have started to notice some sexual feelings, waking up with erections, mild headaches like a migraine with no pain, and some involuntary pupil dilation.

Generally my side effects are: exhaustive tiredness, flu like sicknesses like a cold with no cold and dull ear pain, no sex drive, very high blood pressure (for which I have to take another med), foggy dull thinking, loss of appetite, loss of interest in anything I enjoy (worse than when I was depressed), thinking that things are harder than they really are, dry mouth even with saliva, waking at night to pee, change in eyesight and concentration to see.
Still at least my kitchen sink plumbing will become a little happier each day...

5 months on cymbalta, scary side effects, to get help and to return the favor if I can.

I took my last dose yesterday - it was 2 beads... I reverted to weighing rather than counting using a jewelry scale. Not feeling great, some periods of time I feel like I have a throbbing headache without the pain. Other than that feel good, the feeling gets less each day.

I really would have bored the world silly going into daily detail of my Cymbalta detox on my blog, so I briefly glossed the topic. One of my life changes since withdrawing is to become active once again in blogging.
