I have been getting off cymbalta by alternating doses daily because my doctor said i cant take the beads out because its an extended release medicine and it could cause seizures. But ive taken the beads out before with cymbalta and also had success with effexor. Has anyone ever heard of anyone having seizures because of taking the beads, or had them yourself?

I really want to start taking the beads out instead of alternating but now im scared of having a seizure.

JGo,

In the 4 or 5 years here at the forum, I have never heard about this once.
I've read 99% of the posts, by the way.

Of course, you need to put the beads in a capsule.

Gail is right. The individual beads are time release as well but the dose should go back in a capsule before taking it. Seizures are a rare side effect pf taking Cymbalta and also a effect of going cold turkey. I have never seen it related to taking just the beads.

Beads in the capsule and swallow the capsule. That simple.

Hi I know this is going back a few months, but maybe someone will please answer me??

You say beads in the capsule, swallow the capsule -

1) how to open capsule?

2) how to seal it before swallowing?

Thank you

Hi Adrian,

Welcome to the forum. To open a capsule, you gently twist it back and forth with the biggest part downward. Just put the top back on the biggest part, gentle twisting also.

Any questions, we're here for you!

Yes, twist don't pull... unless you want 100's of the little sods all over the floor!!

There is also a little notch in the capsule, so you feel it almost click back into place when you put it back together.

Once in a while a capsule just won't open for me, I throw it away instead of getting more frustrated trying to get it open.
