Ken, should this happen again, do we do the same thing?

As for supporters, how is it going? Do you intend to close the site? Thank you!

Adding to what Gail has said, being the one that got as far as the host, I am happy to offer any services in my "techie" capabilities.

Should the site ever need to move host, I have my own server - or if you needed a "second in command" who can authenticate a server reboot or similar should it occur again?

Whatever you need and are comfortable with, Sir :)

Matt/IUN

I have no plans to close this site. That long downtime was caused by a software update on the server which for some reason crashed the DB. I use a service which monitors the website and informs me when the site is down but that email went to my spam folder...  and all this happened while I was on a vacation.

Worst possible scenario!! It happens and we are just grateful for your help all the same.

Thanks for clarification and that the site is safe!!

Did my 300 or so emails also go to spam? LOL, what a bunch we are!!

(Ken, I'm not blaming you one bit for not looking in spam, I am blaming me for being so impatient!!!.)

I can't start a new topic here so I'll add this question onto this topic.

I had to change my password recently and now my account doesn't stay logged in like it used to. I have the "Remember User" box ticked, is there something else I have to do to stay logged in? And please don't say to clear browsing data and cache!   :D

If it remembered your own password, then you might have to remove this entry to store another one. It can be a pain in the bottom.

Do you know which browser you are using? Chrome, Internet Explorer??

I use Chrome.

The site just remembered my login, but I was only off for an hour this time.I just changed the password again to something I can remember, so maybe this time my browser will remember it since I changed it on this laptop, not on my tablet like I did when I was in Philly.

IUN, thinking of what you said above.... Maybe my laptop browser wasn't remembering my new password because I changed it on my tablet? Could that be why? You are the computer expert, not me! LOL

Yes - that would be it.

You need the browser on your laptop to forget this password, then when you sign in here again, it should ask you if it is to remember the new password and all should be hunky-dory.

That fixed my login issue, thanks for the computer support. Where do I send the check?  :P  :D
