"Perhaps if I take some low doses a good 6 hours away from taking cymbalta?"
I think this is your best bet. Stay away from iron oxide, iron chloride and iron sulfate as they can be very aggravating to the digestive tract. An iron amino acid chelate should be the safest.

Iron bisglycinate is an amino acid chelate and is an excellent choice. It is very readily absorbed with minimal effect on the digestive tract. You need to routinely get your serum iron levels checked as your body can accumulate toxic levels if iron before any symptoms are exhibited.

Actually iron deficiency is the most common source for RLS. If I remember right you had a ferritin test not to long ago that showed it was low. In addition magnesium, if unneeded, can contribute to anxiety as well as lowering calcium levels.
As far as the Iron bisglycinate is concerned, I can't say it won't have some effect on the Cymbalta absorption it might have but that 6 hour gap should help minimize any effect

Just make sure you DO take it as far apart as possible from the Cymbalta dose as you can to avoid potential absorption issues. Regardless of the source of iron, they are all capable of interrupting the correct digestion of anything preceding or following within a couple of hours either way.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before we saw you again - you are part of the family here! But you have moved?! That is very impressive given the amount of stress involved in doing so. As nice as Florida is - so I see from the TV and my friend who lives there.
Regarding the missing dose, it should normally be around 3 days for the levels to balance out again under normal circumstances, but alas, your reactions aren't always "normal", so I guess it might be a bit subjective. Difficult to say, but missing the one dose can have that effect give the piddly half life of these drugs. Your system would have been as good as empty when you took the dose the next day.

Like IUN, a slow fade over a 3 to 5 day period for most but on the other hand you are not like "most" people. lol
Glad tp see you are hanging in there.

Hi lady!! Been wondering about you. Hope all is well.
Lyla, I agree but considering there is a strong link between stress and heartburn I am not surprised.

Good to hear from you Lyla.
Acid reflux is one of the most talked about symptoms here - GI symptoms in general. Direct link to the brain so it is often the first to manifest mental conditions in a physical domain.

Finally some good news! I really hope this keeps up. I've been tapering at about 2% a month and I seem to be handling it ok so far. In down to 22mg. I wonder if there's some point where if I could just hop off or if I'll have to get right down to my last mg before I can.

That is fantastic news Lyla!! I am so proud of you. I am shocked by the red meat diet and yet your heartburn is better. Most drs advise against red meat if heartburn is an issue.

Sorry for delay Lyla but this is great news!! After everything that you have been through here - this is amazing news, and as Hat said, very proud of you, as there were many a time when you were ready to throw in the towel... and worse.
It must be tempting to jump off the bead counting, but I would stick to exactly what you know to be working. I sincerely hope this continues. Please keep us posted.
So good when members come back with news like this. Thank you!
