I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea to help with the withdrawls. Its been 12 day of me being completely off cymbalta and Im losing my mind! The vertigo is UNBELIEVABLE. I feel soooo sick to my stomach and the excessive irratability is crazy. I feel like I need to lock myself in my bedroom for as long as I need to. Im 39 and have two kids 5 and 12 yrs old and my husband is thinking maybe I need to do soemthing for help with this withdrawl I dont know how street drug addicts feel but if it is like this I understand why they fall off of their wagon. my doctor gave me wellbutrin to start taking that isnt helping, trying xanax but that helps for only about 2 hrs. I cant sleep, I cant function.
Sleep, unisom helped me, and at least 3mg of melatonin 3 hrs before bed.Potassium and magnesium for body ache and hot baths. Moist toewel, like its just come outta the wash, zapped three minutes or less is an exceelent comfort for cramps. Ice on the heador cold wrag helps head paiun some. No caffeine five hours before bed.Helps sleep and irritability. Are you takng anything else? ANything?
Drugs. com has an interactions checker and Id check the wellbutrin with concommitant use of xanax, and more so cymbalta.
I attributed my vertigo to my sinus pressure, a marked withdrawal symptom for moi. Easing it with Night time theraflu(only at night) or another daytime otc med for cold and sinus (which indicates sinus pressure relief), and a saline spray for nasal passages, helped some. Which in turn made the nausea mor managable with something for nausea, pepto or whatever. Minimalistic approach is best Ive found.I dont endorse ANY meds, not even over the counter for anybody other than myself, with cymbalta withdrawal. Tea helps naturally with congestion. Theres a product called "natural calm",(health food store, or web) I dont personally endorse, but ive heard it has a very calming affect, not I dont know whats in it, so I wont endorse it. Gotten rave reviews for calming affect and help with sleep, from detoxers THAT WERE NOT CYMBALTA DETOXERS. Hot baths before bed, and elevate the head for sinus pressure relief. you may HAVE to sequester yourself and put somebody else in charge for a bit hun. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do and if they want a complete you coming out after this almost rebirth experience, they best give you the time you need. Just my opinion, hang tough and good luck. Mystic

It's been 4 days since I went back to 30mg. I'm feeling better, no sweats, or a.m. sickness. I'm sleeping better, the extra 7 pounds came off since Friday. Anxiety is reduced, but my legs are still aching and crampy. Fibro pain hasn't reduced much. I don't know what to expect next.
I was on cymbalta for 2 yrs before this, with my first side effects appearing last summer, after 1 1/2yrs. I'm still on cymbalta, which is depressing. I'm feeling better than last week, which is just plain relief.
I can't believe how different all of our stories are, with the same theme: cymbalta is one nasty drug. Take heart, fellow addicts; we find comfort in each other. We find strength in numbers. Some will win this fight and turn and go, and that's fine. Some will hang around and fight the good fight... against this horrible drug. In the meantime, I'm not going anywhere fast.
Peace- Nancy

Welcome to the form, and a bad case of withdrawls. You need to really read some of the other
posts, and the one's that were here when I got here Aug 18 were so great. They had many
ways on how to decrease this drug slowly by opening the caps, and taking some out.
Also the other's have it down to one bead, and what that counts as!!!
Listen to the ones who have done this, and gotten off in a way that was less painful, and brutal.
There is just so much information here for you.
Let us know what you do decide. We are all here for you!

Madtabby,
Thanks for breaking it down for me, I needed that as I just can't focus to do it right now!
Nancy,
So glad that you are more caofortable. Cured by the beast itself, but our brains must have it, we are Cymbalta junkie's!
JUSY FOR NOW!
Love,
Debbie
