Bad stomach issues for me late last week. Had a drs appointment for a routine schedule so I mentioned it to her. I described the symptoms and she immediately diagnosed me with Toxic Squash Syndrome. It seems like most squash and some other vegetables contain a natural toxin and if eaten to much can even land you in the hospital and there has even been one reported death. I love acorn squash and this was a good year for them so I was feasting on them and pow!!! No more acorn squash for me. This condition is most common in Zucchini, bitter squash, and acorn squash but also exists in cucumbers and other vegetables. If you are interested in details you can read the websites below.
