Morning!

I really hope it works for you. It doesn't work for most people coming off Cymbalta (in fact I can't think of anyone here who's done well with this method in the three months I've been posting here).

You're yet to reach a point where you're body's having to have a day without, so do keep in mind that you may have to change the way you need to do this.

Doctor's tend to see this drug as something along the lines of some other anti-d, or steriods, where the wean system works well. Cymbalta works quite differently, and the only way anyone here has had success with tapering is to slowly but surely reduce the dose, keeping the withdrawal effects to a minimum.

You may be one of those fortunate ones who doesn't have too much problem getting off anyway - they do exist - but if you are one who's going to have problems, I do hope you're prepared to be flexible.

Either way, hang around, let us know how you're doing. Best of luck!

Maureen.

Thanks for the warning. Dammmm, I thought I had the answer to my fears. I will keep your warning in mind as I go. Why do these drug companies warp our doctors minds into thinking this s--t is the answer? I am weaning off both of the so called pain meds cuz they make me feel like crap and mess with my sober thinking.

Tom, are you weaning off two at once? Don't like the sound of that, if you are.

You're right, doctors on the whole are good bunch who have a nightmare of a time trying to keep up and can be understandably influenced what the drug companies tell them.

A GOOD one, though, will take on board feedback from their patients and use that knowledge in treating future patients.

After my experience my GP actually came and looked at this site, and at the problems that some are having - many of whom have had little difficulty getting of other anti-d in the past.

Sorry I spoilt your vision. :/

cheers, Maureen.

Hi Tom

Like Maureen, I'm concerned about the idea of you weaning off two medications at once - esp ones that alter the way your brain chemistry works. Please be careful. Ok?

Kind regards
Junior

I have been here as long as Maureene, and I am like her, I have never seen this work!
Doc's and especially a therapist don't have any clue about this drug, the side effects,
or the withdrawls.

Also the withdrawls do not always atart right away for everone, I don't get them
for 6-9 days.

Good luck, if you want a way that really works if your's doesn't let us know! This
is a sure fire way of getting offf of this crap.

I just wanted to say thank you to Debbie for the instruction on how to wean off Cymbalta. So far I'm on my 9th day with almost no withdrawls. I can't wait to be finally rid of this drug!! Thank you again!

Mrs Joe,
Which one did you go with? The 1/2 mg or 1 mg every 2-3 weeks?
Hope I am not confusing you.

So grateful that it's working for you. I did change it some from
when I first got her, due to my own experience.

Keep me posted:)

Debbie
