No one should quit this drug cold turkey. It is one of the hardest a/ds to get off. Also, large dose drops are not recommended. It seems that doctors, in general, are totally ignorant about the withdrawal problems many people face. Not just with Cymbalta, but with all modern anti-depressants.
The best way to get off Cymbalta successfully, and still have quality of life, is to wean slowly. By than I mean drops of no more than 10% and waiting 3-6 weeks to stabilise before dropping again. This means opening the capsule and counting the beads. Maureen can help with that. I was stupid and went c/t (long story) and would NOT recommend it to anyone.
Please folks, be kind to yourselves. These drugs chemically alter brain function and it takes time for the brain to heal. Doing it gradually just makes it easier all round.
