This is the worst "hangover" I've ever had. I found this forum while trying to find out what was wrong with me. I am thankful for the courage of all who have shared their experiences. I wish I never would have started taking Cymbalta, especially after reading the many posts on this forum.
Why did I stop three days ago? A friend died and I didn't feel like I was properly "feeling" what I should. I couldn't cry.
At first, I thought I had the flu. I've been extremely dizzy. Vertigo? Yesterday, the "brain zaps" started. This is intolerable. I'm going to start taking Cymbalta again because I didn't realize this would be such an ordeal and I am not prepared to go through withdrawal right now. I appreciate all the strategies on how to do this, and I plan to stay tuned.
I wish I had a time machine. I never would have started taking Cymbalta if I knew it would be this bad trying to "quit".

Welcome. You're in the right place. So sorry to hear about your loss, but I know what you mean. My Dad died and I couldn't cry either. Damn devil drug.
Anyway, tapering off slowly works for most people. For some people a small dose of Prozac helps to reduce the withdrawal symptoms. See the forum on Weaning Off:

Some people have posted their journals. Mine is here:

Posting up your own journal will help yourself and others too.
Best wishes,
