I had been on Cymbalta for 1 1/2 years. About 2 months into taking the medication I wanted to stop & found I couldn't. 10 days ago I stopped with the help of a NEW doctor. She put me on Pristiq (a new drug similar to Cymbalta but made by Effexor). The biggest thing is I have not had a Cymbalta in 10 days. I feel horrible - like a bad case of the flu but I am able to function. When I would try to wean off before I would not be able to stand up without feeling dizzy & nauseated. I am still dizzy and nauseated but just not as severely. I have had problems with severe headaches the last 10 days along with diarrhea and nausea/vomitting. I know that sounds like no walk in the park - and it isnt. The important thing though is I haven't had a Cymbalta in 10 days.
